P.590 - §1 These birds are most intelligent, very obedient, and unbelievably affectionate. Such passenger birds have been long extinct on Urantia, but your early ancestors enjoyed their services.

P.746 - §4 It was in these days that carrier pigeons were first used, being taken on long journeys for the purpose of sending messages or calls for help. Bon's group were successful in training the great fandors as passenger birds, but they became extinct more than thirty thousand years ago.

In the ancient Liangzhu region (near Shanghai now) in China, a group of ritual vessels, called cong, and pendants were discovered. Cong is a square ritual vessel. In the elaborate ones, there are two eyes and one prominent beak on each corner, which suggests that they had a long tradition of impressive birds. In many examples, the beak is prominent. The baskets below the bird also suggests that the round baskets may have been used for transportation during the prehistoric times.
